Purpose: The purpose of this animation was to help show the trial jury the defendant’s side of a malpractice case. The plaintiff was a morbidly obese 51-year-old male who had a tumor in his proximal transverse colon. The plaintiff side said too much of the colon was removed and removing that much was unnecessary. The goal of the animation was to show the defense side of the case. It emphasized why removing so much of the colon was necessary due to the location and surrounding lymph nodes.
